Summit 2010

The 2010 Bloomberg New Energy Finance Summit has come and gone, but what an extraordinary three days it was. Over 300 industry leaders and key decision makers from around the world, gathered to discuss the future of the low carbon and renewable energy sector.

This year's Summit covered a wealth of topics from renewable energy investment decisions, to the growth of the clean energy market in Asia, to policy discussions taking place the world over, to the debate of the Magnificent Seven - trends to watch for over this defining decade.

There were compelling speeches, and useful insights from those at the forefront of the sector including James E. Rogers, Duke Energy, CEO; rousing debates about the future of the capital markets featuring views from intriguing new technologies from our first New Energy Pioneers and the Lockheed Opening Dinner; insights on the direction of the bioenergy markets from an early morning strategy breakfast; and a touch of reality from our New Energy Field Trips - whether test driving Tesla's or visiting a wet, yet fascinating, Olympic Village and seeing first hand a construction venture with a 50% lower carbon footprint. The interactive sessions expanded the conversation beyond the stage to all our participants. And, of course, celebrating at the Science Museum and continuing at Amika afterwards!

For a full report on this year's Summit, Bloomberg New Energy Finance will publish the Summit Results Book at the end of April. If you would like to see interviews or the key presentations from the Summit including Michael Liebreich’s keynote, please click here.
