New Energy Finance closes funding round and announces expansion

New Energy Finance, a specialist provider of financial information and services to investors in clean energy, has secured funding and announced expansion plans.

The funding is intended to finance the launch of a number of new publications and initiatives. “Since founding New Energy Finance in early 2004, our analysis has tracked an extraordinary surge in investment activity in clean energy, which reached $42bn last year,” said Michael Liebreich, Founder and CEO of New Energy Finance. “Over the past two years we have established New Energy Finance as the leading provider of financial information, research and analysis on the industry, and we look forward to offering our users further services.” The company’s new investors are from the energy, financial services and investment industries. The round was over-subscribed.
